Rabbits

Thinking about raising rabbits?

Rabbits provide many great benefits on a homestead, and they are definitely a must have!

Rabbits are able to provide the family with a wonderful source of lean protein, and are quick to breed, wean, and grow out. You would be shocked at the fact that you can harvest meat within 12 to 16 weeks of breeding!

They are also excellent for weed eating purposes. These small critters can eat far more than you think they can, and they are MORE than happy to perform as your personal lawnmower. As a matter of fact, they greatly appreciate fresh greens over stale, dusty, bland, processed pellets any day; even though the pellets do make them grow faster, they simply aren’t as delicious for them!

Rabbits also produce some of the best manure that you could as for as a gardener. Add some fresh bunny poop to your favorite vegetables, and watch them grow the best fruits of the season.

Rabbits are an EXCELLENT income source for the homestead. You can raise family pets, grow-out meat rabbits, breeding stock, or fur! Rabbit poop is a hot commodity, too!
